WELCOME!

 Helpful Information

Communication:

Please check our school’s website on Fridays to keep updated with OUR CREW’S news. Our school will be using an online   communication system called PowerSchool for grades. Quick reminders will be sent through ClassTag (text) and School Messenger (email).  Feel free to e-mail, call or come and talk to me

Homework:

I do not believe in sending home a large amount of work for students to do at home especially at this age. However, any work that is not finished in class will need to be finished at home. In addition, to truly reach their growth potential we ask you to read with your child for at least 20 minutes every night! This could be their fluency passage or something in addition!

Snacks:

You may send your child with a snack for their morning recess as well as their afternoon recess. Snacks often help the students re-focus and give them energy for the next part of our day. Also, if you so wish you are more than welcome to donate snacks for the whole class as long as there is enough for 25 and they are a packaged product. We also have some students with severe peanut allergies this year, so please avoid snacks that could compromise their safety

Volunteers:

You are an essential part to your children's education and I would love your help in our classroom! Even though you filled out a paper describing your volunteer abilities at back to school night, I understand that many things change throughout the course of a year including your time availability! If circumstances change for you and you are either unable to volunteer in your previous capacity or found you had more time to let me know!

Attendance and Tardiness:

Please make sure your child is at school on time every day! School starts at 8:10 everyday and being there and on time is one of the best ways to set your child up for success! That being said I know that there will be days that they will have to miss. In that case, whenever possible, please let me know ahead of time so I can get your student the work they will be missing.

Birthdays:

We will be celebrating birthdays and half-birthdays this year! When it is your child's birthday you may bring a poster board celebrating your child and their many unique interests and qualities. Be creative and have fun with this and if your child would like they are free to present it to the class. You may also bring in treats for the class as long as it is a store bought item. With regards to Birthday Parties I ask that you do not send out invitations at school unless the whole class is invited as we don't want anyone to feel left out.
